Elena Steri
Soft and yet powerful. Loud and yet full of nuances.
As soon as you listen to Elena Steri's music, these apparent contradictions suddenly make a lot of sense. Her delicate voice embraced by exceptionally broad yet playful harmonies radiates a melancholic warmth reminiscent of artists like Ex:Re, Feist or Hanne Hukkelberg. Elena's complex Art Pop arrangements range from pushing synthesizers to rhythmically arranged field recordings to wafting guitar riffs, drawing listeners into her world through her versatility.
Elena Steri's songwriting does not strive to fit into a category, but to break out of it. In her music, she addresses topics such as mental health or feminism and her desire for change with a directness that dares to point out and yet manages to hope.
She spent her childhood in Sardinia in a small house directly by the sea and already there picked up the bilingual musical influences that would later shape her. But it was not until she was 19 that she dared to go on stage. Perhaps it is precisely this denial of the public that has made her music so close and uncompromisingly honest.
Shortly after her first concerts, Elena Steri began to invest more energy in her musical development and released her first fully produced EP entitled "Chaotic Energy" in 2020 via the Berlin label ListenRecords. Since then, she has already worked with various up-and-coming bands (such as Blackout Problems, NOVAA or A Tale Of Golden Keys) and is currently also writing music for various film projects.
