Frère

Is it still worth mentioning to describe a songwriter and his songs as intimate, thoughtful, authentic or atmospheric? Yes, because that is what we feel about them. Because it is these few plucked notes and these fragile vocal lines that fill the empty space for us with something.

Behind this abundance of the perceptible is Frère with his loudly painted words and her talented flowing frame of plucked tones. Unagitated yet rebellious, he repeatedly combines these principles into a pattern that is entirely his own.

These patterns, these songs are more multifaceted than just melancholic, even greyer than just black, and because nobody hears it if you are the only one not to applaud, they always offer a punch line, a way out.
