If the German music landscape were a bakery, the display would consist of many hard, old loaves: Hard to eat even with lots of butter. If Franz were a bread roll, it would be a milk roll. Handmade, sweet and lovely, but also a sight that awakens the mother's instinct, too soft to eat and so very vulnerable.
But enough about baked goods, let's talk about music: King Franz - as his fans also call him - makes dreamy, poetically to the point three-minute guitar pop songs mixed with a loose indie sound, brimming with simplicity.
Honest and self-reflective, not entirely averse to humour and unintentionally funny. The consistent hat-wearer and Hawaiian shirt fan does everything himself from songwriting to music and video production.
