Jenobi
Ten years ago, the young Swedish bassist Jenny Apelmo Mattsson took a night train from Gothenburg to Berlin.
She wanted to stay in Germany for maybe ten months, but then the Hamburg band Torpus & The Art Directors got in the way, for which she was to play the (double) bass for the following ten years.
Apelmo Mattsson also wrote her own songs, which developed more and more in a different direction: angrier, more petulant and - based on the many exciting templates of indie rock artists from Scandinavia - darker.
She discovered other women of the singer/songwriter genre for herself - first and foremost Lykke Li and Feist -, she increasingly picked up the electric rather than the acoustic guitar, and she found more and more courage to formulate songs that speak deeply from her rage about the misunderstood. And so she launched jenobi.
