His castle is the music, his subjects the sounds. After years of successful work with and for top national and international artists, Benji Asare aka King LX has now created his own musical kingdom. It is as versatile and colourful as his "king" - like the world he lives in, his origins, his home country Germany. Benji rules over rhythms and lyrics with a sensitive, sure hand. The result is modern soulful pop with influences from soul and RnB - easy to listen to and yet with depth. He is inspired not only by greats like Sam Cooke or Prince, but also by his own musical socialisation.

Benji, the son of a German artist and a Ghanaian father, was born and raised in Hamburg. Here he made music from an early age, wrote lyrics and took his first steps in the school band. At the age of 22, he leaves his home country for a voluntary social year in America to work as a street worker. His boss takes him to church, where he sings and discovers his voice and music all over again. These influences have, as he says, "left a lasting musical mark on him".
